Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin (1474-1548)
Today the Church in the United States celebrates the optional memorial of St. Juan Diego, an Indian convert, to whom the Virgin Mary appeared as he was going to Mass in Tlatlelolco, Mexico. Our Lady asked him to tell the Bishop that she desired a shrine to be built on the spot to manifest her love for all mankind. She left a marvelous portrait of herself on the mantle of Juan Diego as a sign for the Bishop. This miraculous image has proved to be ageless, and is kept in the shrine built in her honor, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. ~ Catholic Culture
I ordered this FREE CD last week and received it today, just in time for the feast day of St. Juan Diego. I only paid a small fee for shipping.
The new packing is very appealing. The package also included two bookmarks of St. Imelda and St. Juan Diego.
I’m thrilled that the Glory Stories are back and can’t wait to complete my family’s collection.
My children love these beautifully told saint stories. They make great entertainment for car trips and school time. I even use Glory Stories for my Little Flowers meetings. They’re just the right length for little ones. They’re informative and fun, a real blessing to all!
Order your copy today, in time for the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Happy Juan Diego, true and faithful man! We entrust to you our lay brothers and sisters so that, feeling the call to holiness, they may imbue every area of social life with the spirit of the Gospel. Bless families, strengthen spouses in their marriage, sustain the efforts of parents to give their children a Christian upbringing. Look with favour upon the pain of those who are suffering in body or in spirit, on those afflicted by poverty, loneliness, marginalization or ignorance. May all people, civic leaders and ordinary citizens, always act in accordance with the demands of justice and with respect for the dignity of each person, so that in this way peace may be reinforced.
Beloved Juan Diego, "the talking eagle"! Show us the way that leads to the "Dark Virgin" of Tepeyac, that she may receive us in the depths of her heart, for she is the loving, compassionate Mother who guides us to the true God. Amen. ~ HOMILY OF THE HOLY FATHER JOHN PAUL II
Catholic Icing is hosting a Juan Diego Movie Giveaway. The giveaway closes Sun., Dec. 12.
